Gas ovens have a different install discipline from electric. The gas line, the injector configuration, the ventilation requirements, and the compliance paperwork all sit under separate NSW regulation. Our technicians hold the gas-fitting licence required and issue a certificate of gas compliance on every gas oven we install.

What is involved

A compliant gas oven installation covers:

  • Gas line connection. The existing gas point is tested for leaks, the supply pressure is measured, and the new oven is connected with the manufacturer-specified flexible hose or hard pipe.
  • Injector configuration. Most gas ovens ship with both natural-gas and LPG injectors. The correct set is fitted for the gas type at your address. The data plate is updated to record the change.
  • Burner setup. Primary and secondary aeration are adjusted so the flame is clean blue, the right shape, and the right height. Yellow tipping or lazy flames indicate a setup problem and are corrected before sign-off.
  • Ventilation check. Built-in gas ovens need cavity ventilation for combustion air and exhaust. We confirm the cabinetry meets the manufacturer’s clearance specification.
  • Certificate of gas compliance. Issued on completion. You keep a copy and lodge it with your insurance and (if rented) your property manager.

What gas regulation means for the install

NSW gas regulations require:

  • Only a licensed gas-fitter may connect a gas appliance to the supply.
  • A leak test is performed on the connection before the appliance is commissioned.
  • Combustion air and exhaust requirements are met to the appliance’s installation manual.
  • A certificate of gas compliance is issued for every new gas appliance installation.

We carry the licence, do the leak test, and issue the certificate as part of the job. This is not an optional add-on.

Brands we install

Miele, Bosch, Smeg, Fisher & Paykel, Westinghouse, Electrolux, ILVE, Omega, Chef, and Simpson all sell gas ovens in the Australian market and we install all of them.

How it works

  1. Send us the brand, model, gas type (natural or LPG), and install address.
  2. We confirm an appointment window. Same-week common for like-for-like replacements; longer if a new gas point is needed.
  3. We install, configure injectors, test for leaks, and commission the unit.
  4. You sign the certificate of gas compliance and we leave with the packaging.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

  • Why is gas oven installation a separate service from electric oven installation?
Gas work requires a separate Australian gas-fitting licence and the technician must issue a certificate of gas compliance. The job is regulated under different rules than an electric oven install.
  • Can you connect to natural gas and LPG?
Yes. We work with both reticulated natural gas (mains) and LPG (bottled). The unit usually ships with both injector sets so it can be configured for either.
  • Do I need to be home for the gas-safety check?
Yes, the property occupier needs to be present at the end of the install so we can walk you through the controls and have you sign off on the certificate of compliance.
  • What if the existing gas point is in the wrong place?
We can extend or reroute the gas line as part of the install. This adds time and cost and is quoted separately on the diagnostic visit.
